Autism Social Skills: Camp Scholarships

As a parent or guardian of an Autistic child, you
already know the importance of teaching and
nurturing social skill with your child. Social skills
camps for Autistic children were created to help
these children interact with others and enjoy new
experiences that last a life time.

Going to camp once a year can be a memorable
experience for all children, including children with
ASD. The camps will provide opportunities for new
friendships to blossom, memories to be made and
skills they can use for the rest of their life. Social
skills and good communication is encouraged and
utilized in all the areas of camp. Campers learn to
work together through activities that encourage
team work and acceptance of others.

Social skills camp benefits:
  • Opportunity to be away from home if only
for a day or a week.
  • Experiencing new encounters. E.g. telling
camp stories, performing skits, telling jokes
    and even making music together.
  • Encouragement in making new friends; learn
to build new relationships that will last beyond
    camp.
  • Campers work together in their living space
and through activities to build team skills such
    as cooperation.
  • Learn to focus on common goals and
collaborate in order to achieve them.
  • Learn how to respect others' space and
    personal items.
  • Making lasting memories that will last a life
    time.

At ASDF, we feel it is important and
necessary to help children and families affected
by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our love for
children has enabled us, through your charitable
donations, to help families affected by Autism.
Our goal is to hopefully help these children move
forward to having the best quality of life possible.
