Tristans's Story

Dear ASDF,

Thank you so much for helping our family with therapy equipment for our home. The Foundation has opened many doors of opportunities for our son, Tristan.

Tristan has had Sensory Integration Dysfunction and Developmental Delays since he was an infant. At the age of 3 he was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The sensory problems, delays and ASD have caused meltdowns, a lack of eating balanced nutritional meals, social difficulties, communication issues, gross and fine motor problems (from the inability to ride a bike to dressing himself) plus many more issues in our son’s life. It’s been a long struggle for Tristan over the years. He is a bright, intelligent and fun loving boy if given the chance. ASDF has given Tristan a new opportunity to shine.

We have already seen positive changes in Tristan the past couple months. Using the equipment at home, in between weekly Speech and O.T. sessions, Tristan has started eating a variety of new food (including some veggies, which he has never done!!!!). He has recently reached a few fine motor skill goals and is also emerging in with his gross motor and bilateral coordination (including buttoning, zipping, improved handwriting and cutting, not to mention increased muscle strength). All of these new changes have and will improve Tristan’s self help and daily life skills.

Thank you ASDF for giving our son a second chance of living a quality life by providing our family with the therapy equipment Tristan was in need of. Our family is grateful for such a caring Foundation that will help families improve the lives of their loved ones on the Spectrum. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and aspirations.

Sincerely,
Greta and Jeff S. - IN
